Proving age is no barrier to participating, the 2020 SI Masters Games will host circa 30 sports and attract thousands of competitors from all over the South Island.
The goal of the Masters Games is to encourage participation in sport where camaraderie and competition are equally celebrated. People compete for various reasons whether it is to stand on the podium, improve their personal best, catch up with friends and enjoy the social atmosphere.
For most sports there is no qualification criteria other than age. That means anyone can compete - either to win or simply have fun.
Our phrase for 2020 is 'The older we get the better we were' and as such we encourage you to tell that long tale, challenge your adversaries and relive the great moments!
We invite you to join us in Timaru this October.
Entries for the 2020 South Island Masters Games open on Friday 3 July at 2pm.
Earlybird Entry: 3 July - 31 July
Standard Entry: 1 August - 31 August
Late Entries: 1 Sept - 20 Sept (after that at discretion of the event)
Our social events are taking shape with a keen focus on NZ icons. We will be in a position to start announcing these over the next fortnight
